We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Assistant Manager, Business Development to play a critical role in supporting the growth of NTUC First Campus’ new business ventures. This role requires a strong focus on project management, operational execution, and research, with the ability to create high-quality presentations and business documents to support decision-making and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and resourceful - able to move seamlessly between planning, coordination, execution, and the creation of impactful materials that communicate ideas effectively.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the end-to-end execution of new business initiatives, from approved concept to launch to business and staff performance management.
  • Support in the development of detailed project workplans, including follow up with stakeholders to ensure milestones, dependencies, and deliverables are tracked and achieved.
  • Provide guidance and day-to-day supervision to junior team members or interns, ensuring alignment, timely execution, and quality of deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive shared accountability and effective coordination across teams. Coordinate across multiple teams (marketing, finance, operations, HR, product development) to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
  • Anticipate operational challenges, propose solutions, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, and resources to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct research on markets, competitors, and industry trends to inform business strategies and proposals.
  • Prepare business cases, reports, and briefs to support decision-making.
  • Assist in commercial negotiations by preparing supporting documents, benchmarking data, and partnership materials.
  • Maintain databases, trackers, and dashboards for ongoing business development activities.
  • Create high-quality decks, slides, and business presentations with clarity and impact for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex information and research into concise, visually compelling materials.
  • Support preparation of materials for board meetings, partner discussions, and management reviews.
  • Apply a commercially minded lens to all projects, ensuring financial viability and sustainability are considered in proposals and plans.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to provide insights on feasibility, ROI, and performance.
  • Track KPIs and performance outcomes for new initiatives, preparing regular updates for management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in business development, consulting, project management, or operations.
  • Strong track record in managing projects and producing high-quality research and presentations.
  • Experience in education, family services, or consumer-focused industries is an advantage.
  • Excellent project management skills with strong organisational ability.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate, thorough, and well-structured work.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with a commercially savvy approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and other presentation/visualisation tools.
  • Effective communicator with strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
