Teaching & Learning Strategy

  • Define the teaching and learning vision for 拇指家族学院, making Chinese learning joyful, expressive, and meaningful.
  • Lead the development of a distinctive pedagogy that balances academic rigour with creativity, cultural immersion, and student engagement.
  • Ensure all programmes are aligned with current MOE Primary School Chinese curriculum, while offering enrichment that goes beyond exam preparation.

Curriculum Development & Innovation

  • Oversee the review, adaptation, and continuous improvement of curriculum content, leveraging SPH Media IP assets (e.g., 拇指家族, 小拇指).
  • Partner with NFC’s Chinese preschool curriculum team to ensure NFC’s unique curriculum and teaching methodologies are incorporated into the programme design.
  • Drive the integration of innovative approaches such as storytelling, bilingual drama, digital tools, and project-based learning.
  • Establish progressive learning pathways across preschool to upper primary, ensuring a coherent and scalable curriculum framework.

Teacher Capability & Professional Development

  • Build and lead a strong teaching faculty, fostering excellence in pedagogy and classroom practice.
  • Design and implement training, coaching, and professional development programmes for Chinese enrichment teachers.
  • Develop standards for teacher performance, student outcomes, and classroom observation protocols.

Quality Assurance & Student Outcomes

  • Define and monitor key teaching and learning quality indicators (student progress, retention, parent satisfaction, academic achievement).
  • Establish regular audit and evaluation processes for curriculum delivery and teaching quality.
  • Use data and feedback to inform continuous improvement.

Partnerships & Thought Leadership

  • Collaborate with SPH Media, MOE, NFC internal curriculum teams, and external educational partners to ensure best-in-class standards.
  • Represent 拇指家族学院 in industry forums, research initiatives, and thought leadership opportunities.'
  • Contribute to content creation for marketing, thought pieces, and parent education.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, Education, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Chinese language education, with at least 5 years in a leadership or curriculum development role.
  • Deep knowledge of Singapore MOE Chinese syllabus (Primary level) and strong awareness of international best practices in bilingual education.
  • Proven track record in curriculum innovation, teacher training, and pedagogy design.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
