Job Responsibilities:

  • Deepen strong, trusting and respectful relationships with children though positive interactions
  • Support children with learning needs via small group learning and apply principles of diversity and inclusion in interactions and implementation of activities for children
  • Make adaptations to curriculum activities and learning materials to scaffold learning based on information gathered about children’s development through observation and documentation
  • Implement developmentally appropriate strategies to facilitate learning and develop positive learning dispositions
  • Identify potential teaching and learning methods, tools and assistive technology based on emerging trends in the sector
  • Partner teachers to customise positive classroom management strategies and ensure the safety of children at all times
  • Document and track children’s learning and development, and carry out learning needs assessment
  • Track children’s attendance and carries out follow up activities to improve attendance and foster good relationships with parents
  • Work closely with centre and child support colleagues to provide integrated care-giving and education for all children, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and collegiality.
  • Analyse areas for improvements for professional practice and participate in professional development and service quality improvement activities.
  • Follows the health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance with standards and procedures
  • Any other projects assigned by RO

 

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education (ACECCE) or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant experience in a pre-school setting working with 4-6 year olds
  • Has experience in implementing learning activities in small group settings
  • Nurturing disposition with patience and passion in working with young children from low income backgrounds
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Good communication skills verbal and written
  • Proactive, and a good team player
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
