We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior/Business Development Manager to lead the identification and execution of new business opportunities and strategic investments for NTUC First Campus. This role will focus on expanding our market presence, forming strategic partnerships, and managing investment opportunities that align with the company’s long-term goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong market analysis skills, strategic thinking, and experience in both business development and investment management. This position will also involve overseeing the development of business cases, conducting due diligence, and ensuring that strategic investments deliver value to the organisation.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Business Development & Partner Management:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the education and family services sectors across designated regions, with a focus on driving revenue growth and market penetration.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with educational institutions, schools, and family-focused organisations to create strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and finance to align business development initiatives with company goals and financial targets.
- Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activities, and regional educational regulations to capitalise on emerging opportunities and to assess the commercial viability of potential new ventures.
2) Strategic Investment Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic investments such as minority investments, joint ventures, and other strategic partnerships that align with NTUC First Campus’ growth objectives.
- Develop financial models and assess the return on investment (ROI) and potential risks for strategic investment opportunities.
- Lead the due diligence process, including operational, financial, and market evaluations of potential investments.
- Prepare investment proposals and reports, presenting strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership (CEO and Board) for approval.
- Monitor the performance of strategic investments and partnerships, tracking financial performance, operational outcomes, and alignment with company goals.
3) Commercial Negotiation & Partnership Management:
- Negotiate and manage partnership agreements, ensuring favorable commercial terms and long-term alignment with NTUC First Campus’ strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to ensure compliance and proper contract management for all partnerships and investments.
- Ensure that operational challenges are resolved quickly and efficiently, maintaining healthy relationships with key partners to ensure continuous value creation.
4) Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Develop and implement systems for monitoring the performance of both business development initiatives and investments, using data to track KPIs and assess the commercial success of each initiative.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing senior leadership with detailed reports on financial outcomes, operational performance, and strategic alignment of business ventures and investments.
- Adjust strategies and tactics as necessary based on performance data to improve outcomes and meet business targets.
- Provide actionable insights to enhance performance, profitability, and alignment with overall organizational goals.
5) Leadership & Strategy:
- Work closely with senior management to ensure business development initiatives and investment strategies are aligned with the organization’s overall growth strategy.
- Mentor and guide team members to drive productivity and performance, ensuring that business goals are met across regions.
- Develop and implement a regional business development strategy that supports the company’s mission, expansion goals, and investment objectives.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in regional business development, sales, or partner management, with a proven track record in managing investments and driving business growth.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing strategic investments, financial analysis, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience in the education or family services sectors, especially early childhood education or family-focused services, is a significant advantage.
- Strong network within the education and family services sectors, with an understanding of market dynamics, trends, and challenges.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to secure and manage high-value partnerships.
- Strong financial modeling skills and a deep understanding of ROI, financial risk assessment, and performance tracking.
- Ability to develop and execute market strategies that drive growth, expansion, and customer engagement.
- Leadership and team management experience, with a focus on driving results and fostering collaboration across regions and departments.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to align business development efforts with long-term company objectives.
- Experience in managing cross-regional partnerships and ensuring compliance with local educational regulations and standards.
