The incumbent is to provide Psychology Development Support (DS) packages under the DSLS framework to treat behavioural and emotional difficulties in K1 and K2 children at My First Skool or Little Skool-House centres
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts psycho-educational assessment for school placement, modification of the learning environment and removing barriers to facilitate learning, as required.
- Works with EC educators and parents to promote collaboration and minimise barriers to learning in the preschool environment.
- Conducts psychotherapy and counselling for children with mild emotional needs such as anxiety and depression.
- Conducts workshops/ training or provides consultation to early childhood educators/ LSEds and parents/ caregivers of children with varying types of developmental needs.
- Provides support for EC educators and LSEds in implementing preschool-wide behaviour management practices.
- Conducts formal SRA and transitional planning from one educational setting to another, if required
- Ensures regular assessment/ monitoring of child’s progress and right-siting.
- Participates in research and programme evaluation projects.
Job Requirements:
- Masters’ in Educational Psychology or Masters’ in Clinical Psychology
- Minimum 1 year of paediatric experience (must obtain a valid registration, license or practicing certificate with an established or recognised psychological professional organisation)
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to assess and interpret psychological evaluations and provide meaningful recommendations.
- Empathy and Compassion – Understands and supports the emotional and developmental needs of children and their families.
- Effective Communication – Able to explain psychological concepts clearly to educators, interventionists, and parents.
- Collaborative Mindset – Works well with multidisciplinary teams, including early childhood educators, therapists, and interventionists.
- Adaptability and Innovation – Open to developing new strategies and approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
- Commitment to Professional Development – Continuously seeks to improve knowledge and skills in educational psychology.
- Open to travel within the network of preschools
